On 6 July 2011 Hanno Resources Limited (formerly Excalibur Resources Group Limited) presented the results of the 4 year mineral Technical Cooperation Agreement (TCA) to the President HE Mohamed Abdelaziz and other distinguished members of the SADR Government. Their results suggest that the SADR is highly prospective for iron ore, gold and base metals and uranium.
The Government of Western Sahara declared an offshore exclusive economic zone on 21 January 2009, making official its exclusive rights to the oil, gas and fisheries resources offshore of the territory of Western Sahara.
The Saharawi Republic (SADR) has extended the closing date of the Second Licensing Offering to 31st March, 2009. The round was originally launched in Houston, Texas on 5 February, 2008, but the global financial crisis, and the recent plunge in oil prices have convinced the SADR authorities to delay the closing date for the offering.
